The spring sugaring season was in full swing last week in New Engand.  The maple syrup producers I spoke with seemed to expect an average or below-average harvest this year because of some less than ideal weather, but during the last week, there were several good days for making syrup - nights with below freezing temperatures, followed by daytime highs in the 40's.

I visited four sugar houses during the course of the week, and it was fun, educational, and delicious.  If you've never tried shots of warm, freshly made maple syrup or "sugar on snow" you're really missing out. I'd like to say thanks to all of the sugar producers who were kind enough to let me hang out and shoot their sugar operations inside and out.
