Assignment Work. This entry was posted on 10/14/2007 6:42 PM and is filed under Photo Trips,EcoPhotography. ![]() Jenne Farm, Woodstock, Vermont. For the last month, I've been shooting a variety of conservation assignments (for the Trust for Public Land and the Society for the Protection of New Hampshire Forests) as well as couple of commercial shoots (for Public Service of New Hampshire and the State of New Hampshire.) I also squeezed in teaching a four day photo workshop in the White Mountains. It has been a blessing to be shooting in some great locations in both New Hampshire and Maine. The way it's looking, I'll be on the road most of the next couple of weeks as well. I spent today shooting a few more subjects for our Connecticut River project, which is winding down after about a year and half of shooting. The above shot of Jenne Farm looks quiet and serene, but in reality it is one of the most popular photo spots in Vermont. Check out the same scene in the photo below. ![]() Photographers line up to get "the shot" of Jenne farm. Shooting amongst such a large group (there were another ten or so photographers off to the left) definitely takes away some of the spontaneity of shooting a classic scene like this. It's hard not to be distracted by what the other photographers are shooting, and if you try to get creative and move into the scene, you are immediately chastised and told to get out of the way. It's nice to finally have a classic Vermont farm photo, but I hardly feel like I was breaking new ground here. Luckily, some of my other projects have brought me to places that are rarely photographed, and I got plenty of quiet alone time to work on my photography. ![]() Organic apples at the Miller Orchard in Dummerston, Vermont. ![]() Paddler and Mount Katahdin on Seboeis Lake near Millinocket, Maine. ![]() Sunset from Silver Mountain in Lempster, New Hampshire. ![]() Casade in Groton, New Hampshire.
